The design of Cove was inspired by shapes and forms from the natural world, especially those found in the sea, in order to create a sense of calm space. Although Cove was initially created for teenagers experiencing grief, it has also been used as a clinical tool for adults who need support with managing difficult emotions.

At Cove, I worked as a UX and UI designer. Alongside a small team consisting of a Product Manager, Sound Designer, and Software Developer, we developed Cove 2.0. Our primary objective was to create an intuitive interface that requires minimal text to use and understand.

We could allocate most of the screen space for musical interactions by utilising a minimal and abstract UI. Working in a small team allowed us to move quickly and iterate on our designs rapidly, resulting in impactful work that has been used by thousands of people.
